Randy Pausch succumbs to cancer
Randy Pausch, noted CMU prof, succumbs to cancer.

I never had him as a professor, was on campus the day of the last lecture but didn't attend, but I've regretted both since.

Last time, I got an Impala. This time, I get a Focus. I miss the Impala. I never figured a rental car would have manual door locks and manual windows. Or a hamster engine. And it's two sizes larger than what I could normally get reimbursed for!

(As a side note, my car is in Bridgeport, IN. Therefore, I have a low expectation of it actually being here on Friday 1/20 as they estimated, since they picked it up friday 1/6.)

Now it's time to find an apartment

Recent beer stash
Brewery: Brew (Style [beer advocate score])

Stone: Arrogant Bastard Ale (American Strong Ale [Score: 90])
Stone: Ruination IPA (American Double IPA [Score: 91])
-They're right, I couldn't handle this beer. Too hoppy, too much an assault on the senses, to filling for an afternoon beer. I mean, I could taste the quality, but I poured out half the bottle.

Ommegang: Hennepin (Saison [Score: 91])
Chimay: White Label (Tripel [Score: 87])
Delirium: Tremens (Belgian Strong Pale Ale [Score: 87])
-I liked this, a very drinkable beer.

Corsendonk: Abbey Pale Ale (Tripel [Score: 86])
Don de Dieu (Belgian Strong Pale Ale [Score: 89])

As a side note, I love this state. Beverages & More (www.bevmo.com) has everything I could want, I think. It has much of Sharp Edge's Belgium Draft menu in bottles. Amazing selection compared to Maine. I think this store and I will become good friends.

As a side note, "this state" is California.

I bought 4 cases of beer (Yuengling Lager, Red Hook Blonde, Sam Adams Lager, Mike's variety) for this party assuming we'd use some at the next party too. We also had about 20 other bottles left over from other cases - assorted Rolling Rock and Sam Adams Ale.

The beer was gone by 1:30 AM I think. We are down to 2 Mike's Cranberry Lemonade and 1 Mike's Berry. Out of over 100 beers.

By the way, the guy who was puking all over the bathroom and was forced to stay the night is actually a nice guy.

Hot tub was used - but someone turned the heat down on it sometime at night so it was lukewarm later.

Great party. Best we've had in a while.
